Color Club: Sorry, Not Sorry VS China Glaze: Swanky Silk

Hey, guys. (^_^)"/" I'm still hanging in for the moment. I hope I don't run into an issue with posting here, because I'm not quite ready to remove Sorry, Not Sorry!

Of course the day I go for pictures it has to be overcast. *ugh* This is two coats of Sorry, Not Sorry; no undies. What we have here is a pink and gold duochrome which shows up more clearly in the video!

The... uh... flashes of green in there? That's my shirt reflecting off my nails. *oops*

When I first saw Sorry, Not Sorry I thought, "hey, this kind of reminds me of Swanky Silk!

Uhm... maybe not so much?

Okay, maybe a little. Sorry, Not Sorry is more pigmented and duochromy than Swanky Silk. They're both pretty, but definitely each have their own personality.

Up next, if all goes according to plan, I should have a threefer of deep green goodness to share. Which, yeah... is going to rush me through my dwindling stash of unworns, but... *sigh* Naught can be done. Over dramatic? >_> Anyway, y'all take care out there and I'll keep trying to stick with my schedule. See ya soon! (^_^)"/"

Essence: Blue-chella

Here we go with another fabulous essence texture. Blue-chella!

Two coats, fast trying. A very nice blue cream with a light texture.

Unfortunately I did get some chipping and tipwear after a day or two. That may or may not be attributed my basecoat.

Yeah... not really a lot to say. Next post will be much more interesting. I'm about to start saving up for a new computer so minus the Julep zodiacs and possibly a pretty cheapy here and there... back to the no-buy. *cries* I've done it before, right? *sigh* Well, it'll give me a chance to revisit some oldies. Hope everybody's staying safe and cool wherever you are. Take care! (^_^)"/"

NYC: "Shimmery Purple" & Julep: Regina

Hello, beautifuls! Got a few pics to share, so let's get started! I was gifted this NYC polish by a very special friend and... I couldn't find a label with its name. So it's called "Shimmery Purple".

This ended up being 3-4 coats because their "new york minute" did not hold up and I kept getting dings and such. Still a very pretty color.

I thought I was going to be totally done by the time I went for pictures, but then I decided it would make decent undies for Julep's Regina:

I was right! I also fell so much in love with this that I finished off my nails and wore it for another two days.

This is only one coat over the NYC. I did topcoat since I was a bit nervous about marring this prettiness.

Yep, Regina is video-worthy.

OOoooooohhhhhhh hehehehe

That's all for now. I have some Taco Bell that's about to get cold on me. Got an essence texture followed by a Color Club duochrome coming up, so y'all come on back. (^_^)"/"

Sinful Colors: Surreally Sweet

Back once again. I almost missed today. Didn't think I was out shopping for that long... *ahem* I expected Surreally Sweet to be much more purple when compared to Sweet Tooth, but Surreally Sweet is pretty pink, too.

Two coats, fairly quick dry time. Surreally Sweet has the same sparkly sort of texture as the Zoya PixieDust polishes. Here's a more purpley shot in the shade:

I've kind of given up finding the blue and green ones.... but I won't be mad if I happen to see them somewhere. I'll still grab them. ;)

Up next is a purple combination that ended up so pretty. Slowly but surely making my way down the line. Even though I do really like Julep's colors for this month... it's been a long money-suck of a month so I'm skipping. I will be picking up Cancer as soon as it's available. I spied it as an add-on (a nice, crabby pink), but so far it's still marked as "coming soon" on the zodiac collection page.

I guess that's all for now. Y'all take care out there, k? (^_^)"/"

Essie: Haute Tub

I made it back! Yeah, I'm kind of surprised, too. Today I have essie Haute Tub which I found on clearance at Ulta. The only reason I got it is because the purple glitter/shimmer looks kind of duochrome in the bottle, but in real life it just kept looking purple...

At least it's not hidden in the black base. This is two coats.

I can't really explain the logic, but I used this as a base for my Onyx mani and added Orly Androgynie and Finger Paints Asylum:

I wore this for a few days as well.

Up next I have a Sinful Colors texture polish. Still haven't seen the blue or green around. That's okay, though, because I still have too many unworns... Summer is already in full swing here in Texas. Hope everyone is staying cool wherever you are. Take care. (^_^)"/"

ILNP: Mega (S)

Okay *deep breath* It's been almost two weeks since my last (polish) post so let's get back to this. I first applied Mega (S) right before all hell broke loose. I'm pretty sure I went for three coats, no undies on this one.

According to the website: "When it comes to holographic intensity, MEGA (S) is in a league of its own. This stunner is exclusively loaded with the largest and most vivid top-shelf holographic pigment available today." I'd say that's fairly accurate. Here's a peak at a pic I took when it was completely overcast:

Not too bad, huh? I also have to say I wore Mega (S) for almost a week and a half and it really held up. Absolutely no chips or tipwear or anything.

So gorgeous. I don't remember if this last pic was lamplight, camera flash or both...

Up next, hopefully I can get back to my every-other-day schedule, I have an essie that I picked up on clearance and transformed into a memorial mani for Onyx. It came out really pretty. I'm going to start going through some of the older polishes I have sitting out here and try to throw in some nail arts since I still have that #SBBNailChallenge to work through. Things are finally starting to mellow out around here so hopefully I'll be around more often. Y'all take care out there. (^_^)"/"

Hard Day

I know it's been a while. I just wanted to let y'all know why. For the past week we've had three sick cats. Some sort of respiratory thing. Our oldest, Onyx, fought through it; the other two are taking longer but making progress. Unfortunately yesterday Onyx's age caught up with her. She's been steadily losing weight for a couple of months and all of a sudden yesterday she had problems pooping and her legs got wobbly. I tried to pick her up and she started whimpering. This morning I made the difficult decision to take her to the vet and have her put to sleep. She made it to the ripe, old age of seventeen, but that didn't make it any easier. I'm talked out, cried out and exhausted... I will come back to blogging at some point, but for now I'm going to take some time off for myself. If you're interested I put up a memorial page for my baby.

Thank you, everybody, for your support and friendship over the years. I know that sounds like "good bye", but I will come back. Y'all take care of yourselves and if you have any furbabies go give 'em a hug for me.

Julep: Joni

Hey, guys... You know that feeling where there's just not enough hours in a day? Things are starting to calm down, but there's still so much to do. I did manage to find time to do my nails, though!

Julep's Joni is one of their citrine birthstone polishes for November. Still not sure why they opted for two citrines instead of throwing a topaz in there, but...

This is one coat of Joni over Finger Paints' Cop An Attitude. Joni is yet another pulverized mettalic so Cop An Attitude made her a little darker (read: more topaz-like) than she would have been otherwise.

Some lighter orange glitters give Joni a more interesting appearance overall. Also, that's printer ink on my finger; I didn't slam it into a door or anything...

Got another discount code from ILNP, so expect some more ultra-pretties coming into the rotation soon. By "soon" I mean "next". I couldn't help myself. Everyone around here just graduated so I hope everyone has a great summer! I'll try to be around more. *HUGS* Y'all take care out there. (^_^)"/"
