Sinful Colors: Truth Or Lavendare & Zoya: Antoinette

First a shout out to my mom! Today's her birthday. ^_^ Happy Birthday, mom! I must be better than I thought because her favorite color is purple! I did it on purpose last year, but with everything else going on I totally didn't even think about it this year. Happy chance.

Starting with two coats of Truth Or Lavendare, one of the "new" Sinful Colors "chalkboard" polishes. I've still seen these around here and there if you haven't picked any up yet.

I really like the color on this one. Dried quickly and cleanup was super easy.

So far this is my favorite. Although I haven't tried the green one yet, so that may change... hehehe

I thought that Truth Or Lavendare and Antoinette were going to be closer in color, but apparently that was just the frosty bottle playing with me.

Also two coats and fast dry time, but Antoinette is a much more subdued, dusty kind of purple.

I'd say this one is definitely more work-friendly. Antoinette is from the NYFW set, though, so I don't think they're still available. Sorry.

Up next I'll have essence Don't Be Shy with some "Halloween" (you'll see) decals. Uhm... for those of you who missed my excitement, the Xbox One came in two days early! So Aaron has been playing the crap out of Syndicate. If asked he would tell you, "I know I'm on borrowed time" (yes, seriously, he said it to me so I know that's what he'd say), but I know he's enjoying it, too. He likes that they implemented the skill tree style leveling-up (like in Borderlands) and apparently they made it easier to get your assassin up and down the tall buildings. It looks really good, too. Got me even more excited for Fallout 4. Uhm..... I think that's it? I feel like I'm forgetting something. *shrugs* I dunno. If I remember, and it's important, I'll write it down for next time. Y'all take care. Stay safe, dry and warm. I'll see ya in a few days! (^_^)"/"

Essence: Nude Sweet Nude + Assassin's Creed Syndicate Release

My brain has been all over the place so while I wanted to swatch some lovely matte purples... Just as I was about to paint my nails Aaron's all, "don't forget you're supposed to be an 1880s hooker tomorrow" so I had to change up my plans a tad. I figured Nude Sweet Nude was subdued enough that nobody would notice.

Two quick drying coats, nice metallic nude. This could probably be a one-coater, but... *shrugs* I never trust that for clean-up or pictures.

As my intro implied, and my title flat out says, last night was the release of Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. One of the announced future DLCs is Jack The Ripper and Aaron just couldn't resist. Easiest thing in the world for me to go as one of his victims.

Believe it or not for both of our costumes the only thing we had to pick up was his hat. He had one, but "destroyed" it for another costume. lol

Not the best and biggest turn out for a video game ever.... kind of puny and anti-climactic, actually, but we did have fun hanging out with the people that did show up.

hehehehe I took that under the street light outside our house. ^_^

So, sadly, Syndicate is just sitting here waiting for the Xbox One to arrive. Which should be Wednesday... or hopefully a little sooner since it's coming from Georgia and is already in Texas. *grumbles* Could go get it myself. Buggers. At least I won't have to wait to play Fallout 4 once that releases! Which was my goal in the first place.

Welp, it's entirely too late for me to still be up. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! (^_^)"/"

ILNP: Cameo

Even with the Xbox One very nearly within reach... when ILNP sends a 25% off "we miss you" code... I can't resist. I can't! It's ILNP! It's amazing ultra chromes! It's "omg if Fallout 4 wasn't coming out I would buy half my wishlist right now, but I can't so I'll just pick one".

This time I picked Cameo for the sorta hot pink main color. This is two coats over black. I didn't topcoat because I feel like I'm still going to possibly try some nail art. I did get a teeny dent from bumping into a cord after an hour, but I did apply it a little thicker than I probably should have... so if you're good at applying thin coats then it should dry a little faster for you.

Cameo is mostly this sorta hot pink and kind of an emerald green, but there is also some gold-orange in there as well. As with most of the ILNP ultra chromes there's no need for fancy light or weird angles to catch the color shifts.

See?! *dies* This is another one of those "take care not to stare at your nails while you're driving" polishes.

So lovely. ^_^ I'm not exactly thrilled by the change in bottle shape... I suppose the square bottles and new logo are more elegant than the old round bottles and logo, but... *ugh* Now my stash doesn't match! *grumbles* hehehe Ah well. Still a super fabulous polish.

Today is the 20th, and you know what that means... Don't forget to pick or skip your Julep Maven box! Since next month is my birthday (and I did already opt-in for the free sparkle topcoat) I decided to treat myself to all the matte metallics. Seriously hoping this batch is better than their previous "metallics"... They did nail the matte suedes, so I'm hopeful.

Oh, and Joyce! If you're looking for an amazeballs polish to break your no-buy: if you don't have it yet you simply must check out Mutagen here and here. A polish so impressive it will ruin you. In a good way. Honest!

Okay, time to run some errands and continue my pet-sitting duties. Up next I'm going to have a quick bornprettystore review (or a midnight release post) so... hang on to the edge of your seats? lol Y'all take care out there and I'll be back with something fun. (^_^)"/"

Catrice: Planet Tokyo + Franken-Lizzy

I'm sorry I've been so bad about keeping up with everyone's blogs. :( Fortunately I'm in the homestretch so hopefully things will start getting back to normal soon and I will have more time to peruse all of your lovely posts. In the meantime, here's a swatch of the absolutely gorgeous Catrice Planet Tokyo!

Two buttery smooth quick drying coats. I absolutely adore this color! Reminds me of the green boots I used to have.

Of course with Halloween fast approaching I just couldn't leave well enough alone. I dug out my essence nail art pen and got to work!

I've been wearing it like this for a few days. hehehe Then, I spotted this at HEB:

Of course I couldn't resist!

I was very pleasantly surprised with how this came out. ^_^

Spooky and cute. Of course all the makeup made the stickers unsticky, but I'm hanging onto them anyway. Figure I can stick them back on with eyelash glue.

Next post will be ILNP Cameo. I know, bad form posting new polishes with so many untried, but.... it's ILNP multichrome and I just gotta. Hope everybody is staying warm and/or dry depending on where you live. lol Autumn is a bit late to the party here, but we're starting to feel it so I'm sure everyone else is, too. Y'all take care out there and I swear I'll catch up eventually.... (^_^)"/"

Essence: Wild White Ways + Sinful Colors: Vivid A Try & Rays Of Bright

I know! I'm late. Sorry. It's been a tad stressful between being so close to getting the xbox one and my poor tablet crashing - then getting the black screen of death. >_< Not blue, which has never been that disastrous, but black which is a whole other pain. I had to dig out the recovery disks and rezero the darn thing. *sigh* At least it's working now and I will not be upgrading it to Windows 10 again. None of the fixes I found online work on tablets. *boo* Anyway, I'm here now and I have a whole three polishes to share with you! So let's get to 'em!

Starting with two careful coats (on account of the following neons) of essence Wild White Ways. The only thing that would make this polish better is if it had been a one-coater:

There's a little tip on the cap that says "Color Intensifying Base"... for people that don't realize that neons go over white? I've seen a few people who refuse to layer neons over white, but imo they're doing themselves a disservice. Be stubborn if you want, but the rare neon that can stand on it's own is a blessed exception and absolutely not the norm. *ahem* Moving on...

Up next is Sinful Colors Vivid A Try, the only actual neon in this exclusive "neon" line:

Two coats over Wild White Ways and it's actually pretty bright! If I remember correctly I did topcoat these because it was getting late.

It's not as bright as, say, Models Own Pink Punch; but much brighter than the rest in this collection.

Finally Sinful Colors Rays Of Bright, also two coats over essence:

Meh... As you can see I had a bit of a blow-out when I wrangled with a keychain. I did win, but it took a chunk with it. :P

Ah well. I'm working on something kinda cool with Catrice Planet Tokyo that I think will make up for that.

Now to grab some lunch and get back to money-making. I may need to do another e-money post since so many of the sites I've recommended in the past are changing their policies and making things so much harder. *ugh* We'll see. Anyway, off to feed myself. lol Y'all take care out there and have a great week! (^_^)"/"

#SBBNailChallenge - 13 - Glitter

Yep, back to the challenge! Today's #SBBNailChallenge prompt is 13 - Glitter! I probably did a little more than I needed to, but I ended up doing the glitter over a mani I was doing for something else, so... that's how that happens. lol Here it is!

The glitter! I started with a glitter base of Pure Ice Emerald Crush with a bit of P2 Start Wild! up at the cuticle, finished off with a little green flower-shaped rhinestone.

The base! Had I applied the base-base a little thicker I might have been able to wear this for a couple of days, but it ended up more sheer than I anticipated:

Triple Zoya gradient with Envy, Hunter and Shawn.

And the obligatory "out of focus so you can see the glitter sparkle" picture:

Ta-da! Sparkles.

Ka-chick! Trucking right along.

I'm about to paint my toes with something fancy then feed the cats before getting back into the money-making fervor.... My tablet died (hopefully fixable) so it's not as easy as it's been, but... that's what the desktop is for. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend. Y'all take care out there! (^_^)"/"

Sinful Colors: Skele-bration & Go Batty

Hello, darlings! I'm actually on-time and relevant for once! Whippee!! Skele-bration and Go Batty are two new Halloween polishes (as far as I've seen and heard all the rest are old polishes) from Sinful Colors that are available at least at HEB, Walgreens and Target. I'm assuming probably also Walmart, but I haven't seen reliable confirmation on that. Regardless! These are currently available in several places so now is the time to go looking for them. *looks around* What? "What do they look like?" Oh yeah. On to the swatches!

As with most glow polishes, both Skele-bration and Go Batty are sheer topcoats which, according to my previous experimentations, work best over white. So each swatch is three coats of polish (I'll get to why in a moment) over two coats of white (because the white I used needed two).

Skele-bration is a fairly standard green glow polish (which I just realized looks bluish in that picture) with not-standard skull and crossbones glitters! Super exciting. The polish is fairly thin and the whole 2nd coat was me fishing out (with moderate difficulty) the skulls and getting them positioned properly on my nails. None came out with the first coat and I used the third to even everything out. I did get one skull naturally during the third coat application. So, how does it glow?

Fairly well. I can't find my blacklight bulb so this is from standing in the dark laundry room and putting my hand up to the window for about 30 seconds. The glow doesn't last super long, but if you're in low-light instead of pitch-blackness it does last a bit longer. If you're at a party with blacklights then that would definitely help

Go Batty is a totally weird name for this polish, but I do like the pairing of moon glitters with the blue. Go Batty behaved exactly like Skele-bration; right down to naturally grabbing one moon on the third coat application. Does it glow blue?!

*pfft* No... Still pretty, though.

I did get some bubbling, but I'm going to say that's 85% my own fault for using so many coats and being impatient.

I think I may go ahead and do the last two SC "neons" next just to get them over with and in their drawer. I don't have high hopes. Perhaps that means I'll be pleasantly surprised! We shall see. Hope everyone is well and enjoying some amazing fall-like weather. I'll be back in a couple days with some more polish! (^_^)"/"

Bic Soleil Glow Razor Review

Hell, lovelies. I have something new, different and exciting to share with y'all today! A few weeks ago I received a pack of Bic Soleil Glow razors to try for free through BzzAgent and I am happy to share my results with all of you. "But Lizzy! What's so exciting about a razor?" Yeah, that was my first thought, too. Seriously, though, stick with me a moment.

Here is the actual Bic Soliel Glow razor:

They come in a pack of 3 for roughly $6.50-8.50USD depending on where you shop. Which is a little pricey if you're used to spending a dollar on the cheap razors. The package boasts a comfort shield, 3 flexible blades, lubricating strips, pivoting head and rubber grip. All mostly standard stuff, yeah? The part that really had me concerned initially was the "comfort shield". *yikes* First "comfort shielded safety" razor I tried had the wires across the blades that not only didn't cut the hairs, the wires tore my legs to ribbons. The Glow razors are nothing like that.

See? No wires. *phew* In fact, even though it looks like it should, the Comfort Shield does not get in the way of the blades at all.

My absolute favorite thing about the Bic Soliel Glow razors is that rubber grippy strip at the bottom. Whether I used shaving cream or not (y'all know how lazy and cheap I am by now, yeah?) I didn't get any drag! No matter how fast I shaved. It's been almost a month and I haven't nicked or cut myself the entire time and, honestly, that's quite the accomplishment.

So smooth! And hardly a hint of extra dark under-the-skin stubble on my extra pale legs. The only thing I don't really like is that the extra large head makes it a bit difficult to get into *ahem* smaller areas. Which isn't really that big a deal, I suppose, considering how great they work otherwise. As far as razors go I give them 9/10. Minus half a point for the bikini area awkwardness and half a point for price. I do like all of my areas shaved if I'm going to be shaving, but having a razor that doesn't skip all over my skin or randomly cut me (even going over my knees!) is just fantastic; and the rubber grip means I'm not dropping it in a fit of spazziness.

Have you tried the Glow razors? Or any of the other Soliel (standard, Bella and Twilight) line? I've tried the standard Soliel before and liked them, but I'm curious about the 4-bladed Bellas. Those even have a scented option which I find... unnecessary, yet intriguing.

Hope everyone's October is off to a great start. Up next I'll have a new spooky glow polish from Sinful Colors so hopefully you can grab one while they're available! Y'all take care and stay safe. (^_^)"/"

Essence: Rock My World! & Amazed By You

Hey, all. Almost spaced on today, but I'm here with two swatches from the "new" essence "gel" polish line. From what I've noticed there's not a ton of difference between these and the already amazing colour & go line. There is a "special" "gel" base and topcoat available, but I'm cheap and lazy and passed on those. Ya know, for now.

Starting off with two coats of Rock My World!, a beautiful smooth darkish grey.

I was going to use this for the Black & White prompt, but it ended up being too dark for the black. Still gorgeous, though.

And quick drying. I really don't see any difference between these and the colour & go. *shrugs*

Up next, two coats of Amazed By You.

Not as bright as I expected it to be from the bottle, but still a gorgeous plumy wine color.

I know it looks a little janky in the picture, but it looks much smoother in real life... just not as shiny as it did last night.

So... still having issues deciding on colors to wear. lol I kind of really want to do a neon skittles. Or a multichrome. Or texture! *looks around* So many polishes, so few fingernails. Welp, that's it for me. We'll see what I do when I get back, eh? Hope everyone's October is off to a fantastic start! (^_^)"/"
