Nabi Magnetic Dark Wine?

I'm kind of assuming that's the name of this polish, from comparing it to the pictures online. That is my biggest complaint. Between these and the crackles.... I don't think Nabi felt the need to put the names on the bottles! Or maybe I'm just slow. Either way, I can't find it. I know there are people who are hesitant about magnetics (or "so totally over [them]"), but at their core they're just nail polish. If it's a color you like, you can absolutely wear it normal without adding the magnetic effect.

See? Dark Wine is actually a very sexy, sophisticated polish all by itself. And the magnetics are heavily pigmented so you don't have to worry about needing a bazillion coats. Of course, as you will see in a second, this means clean-up can be kind of a pain. Especially if you're intending to use the magnet(s) and go for that extra thick second coat.

This could have been way cooler looking, but... First off, the nabi magnets do not come off of the cap. So I used a seperate bottle on my pinky and index finger. On my ring and middle fingers I used the China Glaze magnet. I wanted the star accent nail and to see how different the diagonal-line was between the two. Also, nabi doesn't have a guide and it's more difficult to try and hover the bottle evenly while waiting for the polish to set. I think I'm going to poke around online and see if I can figure out how to add a guide. Also, I kind of want to buy some magnetic strips and see if I can cut out my own designs. :) How cool would that be?!

I did have better luck getting the design to show over my whole nail this time. Since it looked so cool and I did such a shoddy job of showing it, I matte-ed up the whole mani this time.

Yeah... you can tell my star is really off-center there. lol Still, came out better than my right hand, I think.

Or maybe not. At least most of the lines are facing the same direction there. *shrugs* I have at least two more to try. I think next I'll see how the teal one looks with the chevron design. Maybe Nabi's will work better than the China Glaze one since that was just a mess. Hope everyone's week is off to a great start. :)

    1. Thank you, thank you. (on behalf of the polish I guess lol) Next time I'm at walmart or hobby lobby I'm definitely picking some up to see if it'll work.
