Elemental Meditations

Firstly, maybe if I hadn't been so picky about tornadoes I coulda gotten the rain I wanted. *sigh* Oh well. If you're not comfortable saying "Hail ____, Goddes of ______!", you can still do these meditations if you want, just leave that part out.

Air: Face East. Ground and center. Breathe deep and be conscious of the air as it flows in and out of your lungs. Feel it as the breathe of the Goddess, and take in the life force, the inspirations, of the universe. Let your own breath merge with the winds, the clouds, the great currents that sweep over land and ocean with the turning of the earth. Say, "Hail, Arida, Bright Lady of the Air!"

Fire: Face South. Ground and center. Be conscious of the electic spark within each nerve as pulses jump from synapse to synapse. Be aware of the combustion within each cell, as food burns to release energy. Let your own fire become one with candle flame, bonfire, hearth fire, lightning, starlight and sunlight, one with the bright spirit of the Goddess. Say, "Hail, Tana, Goddess of Fire!"

Water: Face West. Ground and center. Feel the blood flowing through the rivers of your veins, the liquid tides within each cell of your body. You are fluid, one drop congealed out of the primal ocean which is the womb of the Great Mother. Find the calm pools of tranquility within you, the rivers of feeling, the tides of power. Sink deep into the well of the inner mind, below consciousness. Say, "Hail, Tiamat, Serpent of the Watery Abyss!"

Earth: Face North. Ground and center. Feel your bones, your skeleton, the solidity of your body. Be aware of your flesh, of all that can be touched and felt. Feel the pull of gravity, your own weight, your attraction to the earth that is the body of the goddess. You are a natural feature, a moving mountain. Merge with all that comes from the earth. Return to dust, to compost, to meed. Say, "Hail, Belili, Mother of the Mountains!"

These meditations come from "The Spiral Dance" by Starhawk. If you would like more information on the Goddesses, check out The Feri Goddesses of the Directions.

Misc Stuff

Okay, so I've gotten the tables to about as good as they're gonna get. If you wanna see how they look, check my profile and check Aaron's profile, cuz I did one for him as well. That's as good as it gets, if you're my friend and ya want one, let me know. You can e-mail me direct (message me if you need my address) with a picture. They come out better if the main image is kinda centered . . . as you can imagine. I'll fiddle with it (cropping and resizing if it's too big) and let ya know. If you want the writing a specific color, let me know. Can't be expected to remember everyone's favorite color, can I?!

We've gotten some nice rain . . . I mean, nice for the pansies. I want a nice storm. They're all passing just North of us!! I want some thunder and lightning and rain hitting the porch's tin roof to be so loud it drowns out everything else. It would be great if I could get all that without losing electricity. *teehee* Is that greedy? Maybe, but that's what I want. No tornadoes please!!

I'm gonna try and get some new pics today. I have an idea for a really kewl one that I'm gonna take, just haven't done it yet. *grins* If it comes out 1/2 as good as I have it pictured in my head then you'll love it.

Unless something really big happens in the next 24 hours, then tomorrow I'm going to post up some elemental meditations that I came across. If you don't like that sort of stuff, then don't read it. Okay, if I do that, then I'll call it "Elemental Meditations" if I do something else I'll call it "Something Else". Good? Good.

*snickers* Okay, my tummy tells me it's time to eat. I'm thinking Honey Smacks . . . ya know, if you were wondering. roflmao Yeah . . . time to eat. Take care everyone!!!!

"He exclaimed with great relish." *snickers* I love that movie. So why am I so excited? I just figured out how to make my own contact table!!! *whoot!* It was a lot of work, and I have a little bit of tweaking to do with the font size (yes, I realize it's blurry), but I'm so excited! Once I work out the bugs (font bugs, not coding bugs) I'll offer to make y'all your own contact table if ya like. *grins* Once that offer is available I'll let ya know what size pic you need and all that. Of course, due to the work that goes into it, and the space it'll take up in my photobucket account, this offer will only be available to my friends (does anyone else read this?) and my dear blog readers will be the first to know . . . probably the only ppl to know. Don't wanna get swamped. . . . *shrugs* Like I said, still have a little work to do. brb . . .

I'm back . . . and fully aware how unneccesary that was. Habit, ya know. Uh . . . . I guess that's it. Gotta check on my neopets before ma wakes up and kicks me off the computer. ^_^

Spongebob Cranepants?

First off, thanks to Sandy and Tav. It's raining very nicely here now, and as soon as I'm done here I'm going to go sit on the soaked porch swing and just drink it in. First chance I get I'll head out to the walking trails (for some reason I get nervous going to the island by myself lately), spend some time by those giant boulders (you remember the ones, don't ya Sandy?) and then head down to the waterfall and dip my feet in. Bugs be damned! lol

Second, today Aaron and I went to HEB to pick up some stuff (soda and instant taters if you must know *snickers*) and we passed the crane game on the way out. Usually we'll peek just to see what they have in there, but we know they're rigged so it's very rare that we actually give it a shot. We saw what appeared to be a pirate spongebob plush. Turned out to be a gay biker outfit, but whatever. The point is, thinking it was a pirate, I told Aaron that he had to try for it. We had 50 cents, so he pops it in, takes the control and nabs spongebob! I didn't breath the whole time the crane was going back up and towards the box cuz I've seen those stupid things drop the prize too many times. *BAM* Right into the box! I was so excited, I knew I was gonna post about it and I decided to color a picture as a nice background for it. Silly, I know, but I think it came out nicely:

I hope that shows up. I'm linking directly to my MySpace album which I don't normally do. Now that we know that crane actually holds on to stuff, he's wanting to try for the Family Guy toys they've got in there.

Well, it's 4:40am. My mom's asleep at the moment (I think) so I'm going to change and sit out in the rain before a) it stops and b) the whole world wakes up and wrecks the ambience. I'll be back. . . . assuming I don't fall asleep out there and catch pneumonia or something. Thanks again for your support! I love you guys!!!

White Rabbit

That's who I feel like.  The white rabbit off of "Alice in Wonderland".  No, I'm not pregnant.  Not that kind of late.  lol  Just, ya know, in general.  Never enough time to do anything.   So many things I have to do, so many things I want to do, then there are the things I really don't want to do or even think about that get brought up all the time.  The room's such a mess that I can barely concentrate, let alone meditate.  Maybe it's time I took a time out.  Reconnect with some things.  *sigh*  Might be a little easier if I wasn't being fought at every turn.
Whatever.  Huh.  This'll be my 70th post.  Maybe I should think of something really interesting for number 100?  What do you think?  lol  I'm up for suggestions.

Maybe I need to get out into nature.  Clear my head.  Prep myself.  I may not be where I pictured myself 10 years from then, but I can't go on like this forever.  Something's got to give.  I really don't want it to be me, ya know?

Anyway, enough of my grumbling.  Too much to do today.  lol  Can't sit here all day feeling sorry for myself.

Garr Licks

Haha! Tricked ya. 'Nother neopets update. This one is too cute, though. As you may, or may not, know I'm working on trying to get a JubJub to zap into being coconut colored. Well, I came close. Can ya guess? Yup! Garlic! Look at her!

I like this so much I'm keeping her. Went and got another JubJub (yellow) to try and turn coconut.

Oh, and Elvis got a fur-cut today. He's so frikken adorable! I mean, he's cute with his long wild-pup hippie hair, but when he's all cut down and you can see his ears and neck *snickers* he just gets so cute!!!

SSSssshhhhhh. He's sleeping. *grins* We now have 146 pics and 2 vids of him. ^_^ As soon as I get a better pic of him with his haircut I'll post a little "before and after" of him. The many faces of pup! *teehee*

Zombie Dream

This one stood out to me for a couple of reasons.  The length, the detail, and the sheer number of people from my past.  That, and I seem to dream of zombies quite a bit . . .

I started out working on something on the computer.  I think I was trying to get into my blog, but couldn't remember the URL.  Before I fully remembered, I had to go to school.  I was packing my bag and mom wanted me to check which of her cameras (desire to cling to or live in the past, alternatively a need to focus) had the most memory left.  I told her I'd have to do it when I got back.

The school didn't look like much of one on the inside.  It felt more like a mall.  I ran into Jana and Kristy.  They were a lot younger than they are now.
(to dream of your cousins represents some aspect of your character that is familiar.  Perhaps you need to develop an emerging ability or character trait)  I held their hands and walked with them towards the cafeteria.  When I got there they disappeared, but Marie and Brandy showed up.  I was sitting on a table (the long kind with the attached benches) talking to them.  Brandy took out some tweezers and started plucking my unibrow.  (to see tweezers indicates a need to look at a situation much more closely)  I thanked her, then Marie and a couple of their friends joined in.

Then, all of a sudden, I was alone.
(to dream that you are alone indicates feelings of rejection.  You may feel that no one understands you)  It was dark, so I assumed it was time to go home.  I had to walk.  It started to drizzle.  (to dream that you get wet from the rain signifies that you will soon be cleansed from your troubles and problems)  I ran into Bam Margera (acting like he did before in a dream, not like he is on Jackass).  He offered me a ride home.  We were walking to his van (convenience or practicality) when this guy started bumping into us.  Bam asked him what his problem was, but he just stared at us.  It was really creeping me out.  Bam beat him up and as we got into his van, the guy started to get up.  Just as I closed my door and he started to drive, three more people threw themselves against the van.  Zombies!!  (To see a zombie, suggests that you are physically and/or emotionally detached from people and situations that are currently surrounding you. You are feeling out of touch)

We tore out of there and headed for his mother's store.  By the time we got there it wasn't secure at all.  Everyone was around the register, and zombies had busted in the glass.  I told everyone to get downstairs, where I barricaded the door.  After doing that I heard Jay's voice from above.  When I realized that Silent Bob was down there with us, I knew I had to let him in.

After everything was secure again, I remembered there was a door which lead to the back yard that was surrounded by a huge, sturdy wooden fence
(an obstacle or barrier; or a need for privacy). I went out, didn't see any zombies, but the gate (new opportunities or possibilites) was open.  I hauled ass to it and secured it as best I could.  When I turned aroud, not only was everyone outside with me, but the fence was completely gone minus a few nubs in the ground!  I ran back to the basement as fast as I could, practically in tears.

I was sitting on the couch,
(rest, relaxation, laziness or boredom) drinking a Mountain Dew, wracking my brain to figure out what to do next when Jenny Bowers showed up.  She said if I wanted to survive, first off I'd have to quit drinking soda.  She took my Dew, but all I could manage was a weak, "But I'm thirsty."  She started talking about rations, but faded off as I woke up.

So there it is.  I think deep down I may really be scared of zombies.  Maybe cuz I know they really exist?  Or maybe it's the loss of self.  I think this may have something to do with why I really don't want to be kept on life support if I go into a coma.  If I'm alive on my own in a coma, then I'm alive.  If machines are keeping my body alive, I'm already gone.  I'd be like an immobilized zombie myself.  Who wants that?

ITC stands for Instrumental TransCommunication. If you've ever seen the movies "White Noise" or "Pulse", they center largely around ITC. They are like visual EVPs. There are two main ways to catch them.

Static: You set your TV set to a static station and record it with a video camera. When you go over the footage later you see the images within the snow>
Infinite Loop: You set up you video camera's output into the TV's input (like how they have 'em displayed in the store) and point the camera directly at the TV so you get the repeating picture. Record that and then view the footage for images that "shouldn't" be there.

I think it's the simplicity of capturing these images that really has me intrigued. EVPs are amazing, but you usually have to prompt the spirit into talking to you. With ITC you just let the camera roll. Yet, there is the question . . . while you're watching them, are they watching you?
It may seem like kind of an assinine thing. Of course if you're watching snow long enough you'll start to see something. Then you have to sit and think that spirits draw on either organic or (more likely) electronic energy to manifest in our plane. Below is a list of some sites that have ITC pics that show various images or scenes. As I was looking at some of the more detailed ones, I started wondering if these could somehow be related to those images where you have to "look past the picture" to see the secret image? You know what I'm talking about. I could never do those, but it seems very similar. For some of the pics you will see (if you choose to look) I'll admit that I can't see anything . . . certainly not what they're describing. However, it's the really detailed ones that make up for it. Anyway, here are some of the sites:

AA EVP: This is a good site with a lot of information. At the top of this particular page are a couple of links to their ITC galleries.
ITC Page: Here's one with a few really detailed pics.
World ITC: This page has so much information, and some really good pics. Definetly worth checking out, IMO.
Whether or not you believe in ghosts and earth-bound spirits, or spirits in a parallel universe that intersect with ours from time to time, you should still take a look. Ya know, just to see. Curiosity may have killed the proverbial cat, but we're not exactly feline are we?

      De Ja Vu?!?!

Okay, so last night I was watching "Rest Stop".  In case you don't know, it's a horror movie that purposefully went straight to DVD.  Anyway, I was watching it for the first time and there were two scenes that I distinctly remember seeing before!  Not, "oh, it's kind of the same as . . . .", identical.  And they're not from the previews either, cuz I checked.  One of them is a scene that is only found on the special features.  This isn't the first time this has happened either.  A couple of years ago when I was playing "Harvest Moon", there is a special event where the cop comes by and tells you about a letter he got from Aja.  I had never gotten that even before, yet I would swear that I had seen it before!  With these wierd memories, I don't get the same feeling that I get when I get dejavu, which I was getting all of the time when we first moved out here.  It's just a matter of I KNOW I've seen it before.  It's like I'm literally reliving my own life and bit and pieces of my old memories are still there . . . . kind of unsettling.
Oh!  Before I forget.  *huge grinz*  Ran into Darrell (sweet ugly orange kitty) on our back porch.  He went and made himself comfortable on the purple loveseat we've got back there.  lmao  I told my dad (so's he's not caught off guard when he gets home) and he said to give him food and water.  *huger grinz*  Which I had, of course, already done.  Set free another mouse too.  Makes me so happy every time I get to do that, but I also can't wait until they're all out of here.

If there are any GTA fans reading this, you really should check out The GTA Place.  I was tooling around that site yesterday and downloaded all of the GTA fonts!  They also have a ringtone that sounds like the pager from GTA3.  *teehee*  It's got all kinds of kewl stuff.  So, yeah, check it out.
      And . . . . .
      Happy St. Patricks Day!!!!!

      Neopets Update

Yes, again.  lol  Finally figured out how to end my NeoQuest game so I could start over and get the "Weakling" avatar.  That JubJub-turned-Wocky, turned into an Ice Blumaroo.  Still got her for the moment, but I got rid of my Faerie Korbat in exchange for another JubJub.  Here we go again!  lmao  I don't care how long it takes I'm going to keep trying until I get that Coconut JubJub.  After that?  Who knows.  I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.  In the meantime I'm still training Frijana.  She's still got some battles to win, most of which she's no where near strong enough for.  Also, whatever np I'm not spending on training is getting saved up.  Who knows, maybe I'll end up with a paint brush . . . either striped for her so she can be pretty again, or orange for the Grundo avvie.  In either case, I'm finally under 2 months left until the Snowbunny avvie, so I'm really happy about that.  Oh, and guess what else?  My blog has now had 1000 views!  Woohoo!  Thanks guys.  *sniff*  I think I'm gonna cry . . . maybe not, but I do appreciate y'all checking in on my ramblings.

      Puppy Dream

Last night I dreamt of Sasha.  Aaron and I were walking down a dirt road.  It was a bright, beautiful clear day.  At the end of the road was a cul-de-sac with a huge green bush in the middle, and there was Sasha sitting right next to it.  We ran up to her and she was so happy and healthy.  When we tried to get her to come home with us, she disappeared.  I told Aaron about my dream and he said "That's because she can't."  I know this.  lol  We had to try anyway, I suppose.  Rather than making me sadder, though, it was nice to see her again.  I've always believed that our animal companions wait for us on the other side, happy and young and frolicking free.  It was just really nice to see her there.
Also, not entirely related, I've caught more mice!  Finally got to set one free in broad daylight.  It was so cute running off into the field.  Probably scared 1/2 to death after being stuck in a box, but if he knew the alternative . . . *shudders*  don't even wanna think about that.

      Bye-Bye Sasha

The whole time she was with us, I tried to find her a better home.  I knew my sister wasn't going to take care of her.  But the rest of us banded together.  Made sure she was fed, brushed and let out.  I played catch with her, and got the matts out of her fur.  She was best friends with Buzz and the reluctant girlfriend of Elvis.  Every now and then I can hear her panting in my ear.  She wasn't very smart, but her heart was bursting with love and devotion.  Now she is running rampant through the greenest pastures, chasing down the birds and squrrels and able to eat whatever she likes without consequence.  Though she has left us, her inner light lives on.  Bye-bye Sasha, we will miss you.

      Drat and Hurray!!

Well, I didn't get picked as one of the recipients of the Coco Roller avatar code *drat*, AND the JubJub I was zapping to turn coconut turned into a Wocky *double drat* BUT they ~finally~ decided to give away the prizes for the Haunted Woods plot!  I had enough points (even though I didn't get to go as far as I wanted) to get two plushies, a new sidebar theme AND this snazzy new avatar!  Woohoo!

        Time to get back.  ^_^
