Dream Landmarks

The dream I had the other night got me to thinking about specific items and locations that pop up in my dreams.  This particular landmark is a huge oak tree that is flat on top with a town on top of the tree.  The Oak Tree symbolizes: longevity, stability, strength, tolerance, wisdom and propsperity.  To see a City signifies a sense of community and your social environment.  The fact that the city is on top of the tree I guess would be a positive social environment.

Also, in my dreams, I find myself in bathrooms a lot.  In one particular dream town, the bathroom is a gathering place where we all share what we have and help each other out.  Most times I just end up walking through a door and find myself in a bathroom, usually huge ones with between 10-30 toilets, showers, 15-20 sinks, both with and without actual stalls.  These are interesting, so I will copy them here verbatim:

"To dream that you are in the bathroom, relates to your instinctual urges. You may be experiencing some burdens/feelings and need to "relieve yourself". Alternatively, it may symbolize purification and self-renewal. You need to cleanse yourself, both emotionally and psychologically.

To dream that you are in a public restroom with no stalls, signifies your frustrations about getting enough privacy. It may also indicate that you are having difficulties letting go of old emotions. If you reveal these feelings, you are afraid that others around you will judge and criticize you. "

"To see a toilet in your dream, symbolizes a release of emotions or getting rid of something in your life that is useless"

Hrm.  To see a Sink represents your feelings and how you control your emotions, and taking a Shower in clear fresh water indicates spiritual or physical renewal or the need to wash a burden out of your life.  It doesn't say anything about just seeing a shower, though.  Huh.  This is some good stuff to keep in mind.

The fact that most of my dreams take place at Night represents major setbacks and obstacles in achieving [my] goals.  *scratchs head*  You know, for the life of me I can only remember a tiny handful of dreams that take place during the day . . . .

Oh, one last one.  Schools, I end up at schools a lot.  To dream that you are in School signifies feelings of inadequacy and childhood insecurities that have never been resolved. . . . uh-huh . . . . It may also relate to anxieties about preformance and abilities. . . . okay . . . . You may also be going through a "spiritual learning" experience.  Alternatively a dream that takes place in school may be a metaphor for lessons you are learning in your waking life.  I think I like that one best.  lol
Well, that's it for Lizzy's Dream Landmarks.  I think some of them, like the city on a tree, also serve to let me know that I am in fact dreaming, cuz I think to myself, "Hey, I've dreamed of that before."  In light of the new info gained from researching the meaning of bathrooms in dreams, I think I'm going to go ahead and log off now and go preform a personal cleansing.  Maybe then I'll feel like tackling the day's chores.  ^_^

2 New Avvies!!

I'm so happy. I was just sitting here going through my avatarlog profile, checking out how difficult it would be to get some of the avvies I don't have yet. I decided to play some of the games you can get an avatar from and managed to wrangle:

This one!

Then as I was looking around at the battledome avvies I don't yet have, my offer on the Snow Paint Brush was accepted! So I also got:

This one!

Frijana's Pet Page has been updated accordingly. ^_^ So what's next on Neopets? Training. Frijana's got to be good and strong to get some of those battledome avatars, and not only that, as soon as I can find a guide to the Defenders of Neopia side-missions I'll be getting some new trophies as well.

Descent (poem)

The world turns and time goes on
Day and night a swirl
What you know is what you know
Sanity unfurls

Darkness creeps and demons weep
A path through the dim
It drives you mad you can't give in
Life lived on a whim

An angel bleeds a fond hello
Which path do I take
Restless minds lost in time
Soon it will awake

Story Time (w/ pics)

I know I've been writing a lot, but I've just been itching to tell this story. I just wanted to wait until I had a pic of the house so you'd know what I was talking about. Well, I got one! So here goes: A long time ago, before we moved out here, I had a dream.
It was dark and I was trapped in a house. The person who was keeping me captive had left so I decided to try and plan my escape. It was hard to move around in the dark, but I made my way to the living room. The front door was barricaded, but I noticed a sliver of light peeking in through a crack in the top of the curtain. I stood on a stool (or stack of something) so I could see through it. All I could see, however, was wilderness and the posts for the front porch. I didn't want to bust through the window in case he was nearby and would hear it.
I made my way through the kitchen to find that the back door was not barricaded. I opened the door and went through to find myself on an enclosed porch. Just as I was about to breathe a sigh of relief I saw my captor standing to the side with a shotgun pointed at me. He ordered me around to the side of the house and forced me to sit on one of those old school plastic chairs. The kind where there are several welded together. Not only that, Aaron and two of our friends were already tied up on the chairs.
The man with the shotgun went over to talk to his partner who was feeding fuel into some kind of boiler. I looked around to see if there were any neighbors nearby, but saw only more wilderness. I was scared to death, because I had no idea how we were going to get out of there. The man with the shotgun came back over, this time with his buddy in tow holding a red hot poker. They got so close I could feel the heat from it. They were saying something, but all I heard was gibberish. I had to wake myself up at this point.

Then we moved out here.  About a week after settling in I walked down to Mickeys. I passed this house and at first thought nothing of it. However, on my way back I got the perfect view and I saw those chairs!! I stopped and looked closer and soon I recognized the boiler and the crack in the curtain! I could not believe that this was the house in my dream, but everything was as I remembered it.
Those of you who are skeptical will probably think that I had passed this house before and it remained in my subconscious until showing up in the dream, but that's just not possible. The only time I had reason to come down this street (before actually moving here) I went as far as the Mickeys (coming from the other direction) and turned.
So what does this mean? I wish I knew. All I know for sure is that I had an extremely vivid dream in this house before seeing it physically.
I also had a similar experience when Autumn, Aaron and I went ghost hunting. We were checking out an old schoolhouse in or near Holland, TX and when we came around a corner I spied another house I had seen in my dream. I recognized this one from the way the brickwork was laid on the side. Kind of stair-steppy like part of it was missing. That didnt' get me near as bad as that blue house, though.
Well, there's my story. Take from it what you will.

Winter Wonderland?!

Just when you think you're safe, out of nowhere it goes and freezes up on you! Had to take my dad up to the truck yard this morning and seriously had a helluva time! Couldn't get out of the yard cuz the gate latch was frozen shut, couldn't get the doors open cuz the handles were frozen solid, nearly slipped and fell to my death on the wooden plank we use as a bridge for when it floods. That's what the problem was. It rained and rained and rained the past 2 days and then it all froze! No worries, Darrell is doing fine. Like I said, he's a survivor.

Here's my favorite picture. There's some mistletoe hanging on a tree in the back yard and it was practically glowing in the frosty early morning light. In my MySpace pictures section there's another picture of the Persimmon tree(bush) that's on the side of the house.

If this looks familiar, that's cuz it's the field ya run into coming towards Killeen from Hights. Doesn't it look phenomenal? Just for kicks, I've also got a pic of my ladybug windchime. ^_^ Enjoy the Texas winter wonderland! Take care and drive safe!

Odds & Ends (poem)

Odds & Ends

Some beautiful times
Shared with all of you.
Not so great times
Of which no one knew.

Museums and art shows
And hiking all day
Best friends and no friends
It went either way

Struggling friendships
Some penpals to boot
Camping in the woods
Now that was a hoot

Laughing all day
And crying all night
I still don't care
If my shirts were too tight.

All secrets kept,
I've never told
I'm good for that
I'm just not that bold

Numbers constantly
swirl through my head
There were even days
I wished I were dead

But I'll end on a high note
As you should too
Cuz there's no such thing
As a breakfast burrito!

Okay, only a handful will understand that last line. I'm NOT gonna explain it, so don't ask.

Late Night General Update

It's after 5am.  Stayed up all night which was STUPID!  Now I have 2 smokes to get me through tomorrow.  I know, I'm quitting, but it's harder than it looks.  And it looks pretty hard.  So . . . yeah . . . I got the member's section done on that site.  A couple things I'm not entirely happy with (250 message limit on the forum, are you kidding me?), but I'll work on that later.
On Neopets:  I submitted my gallery for the Gallery Spotlight award and wasn't picked.  Oh well.  I'm saving up np for a snowy paint brush, and after I get that I'll probably work my way up to 250 plushies and retry.

On MySpace: I added something new to my profile.  ^_^  Take the test to see how well you know me.  Go on, it's fun.  If you make one, I'll take yours.  Scout's honor.  Just let me know.  Also, I took off the thing to approve comments, so they'll go directly up.  I don't know if that counts for blog comments, but definetly for profile comments. . . . hrm . . . interesting.

Dreams:  Yeah, I've had some interesting ones this year.  So far I've remembered every one.  As soon as I dream up something worth mentioning, y'all will be the first to know . . . unless I run into Jarly and tell her before I log in here.  She has a way of dragging stuff out of me.

Halloween:  Yes, we already know what we're going to do this year.  ^_^  Aaron's going to be Blackbeard, and I'm doing Anne Bonnie.  It's gonna be fun.  Assuming we can get our hands on the right material for the costumes.  We're not doing Wal*Mart pirates, oh no.  Still gotta figure out where we're going to go to show 'em off.
Okay, I'm officially exhausted.  Time to hit the little girl's room and go to bed.  Here's hoping I don't suddenly get a second wind as soon as my head hits the pillow . . . again.

Dream People Cont.

I forgot to mention.  In the section of actual Dream People (those people who show up that you don't know), you will also encounter spirit guides.  You may not know them straight off, but you'll feel a connection to them, like you've known them forever.  These are people to really pay attention to.  They may even show up in animal form, so if you have an animal acting strangely, take note of that as well.

Dream People

I've given this subject a lot of though over the past week or so.  Especially after a dream I had the other night where I ran into a guy, saved his life, and then couldn't remember his face.  In my dreams, I'm myself 99% of the time.  As for other people, in my own experiences, I've divided them up into 3 catagories:
  • Friends & Family - These are people that you know in real life.  When they show up it is generally because there is some trait of theirs that you need in the course of the dream, or are supposed to learn from.
  • "From Afars" - These are people you don't know personally, but you know a lot of.  Like celebrities or historical figures.  I'm assuming they would show up for roughly the same reason as family and friends, but since you don't know them personally, it would be a trait of theirs that you assume.  If that makes sense.  In some cases, though, these people will show up if you're continually bombarded with them.  (Try watching TV before going to bed and see what happens.)
  • Dream People - These are people that you don't know.  They may or may not seem familiar when you encounter them.  They may play a big part in the dream, or they may be a background character.  If they're important, then there will be something about them that stands out.  Something about their personality, something they do or something they have on them.  These are generally the hardest to remember their faces.  I don't know why.  This is my experience anyway.
Not sure how useful this is.  Just something I've been thinking about so I figured I'd post it.  ^_^

Dream Influence

You know, I was having an interesting dream (weddings, flying houses, island villages) when all of a sudden a dead pilot turned into a pirate zombie!  I woke up shortly after to find Aaron watching the special features on "Pirates 1".  Gggrrrr.  lol  And what's up with Brad Garrett showing up in my dreams?  That's, like, the 3rd time in the past month.  What's up with that?  Certainly wish I knew.  Old friends and animals that seem out of place I can understand, but I never get the celebrities that show up.

Happy New Year!

Happy 2007 everybody!  Last year went by quick! For the most part.  lol  Hopefully this year will be better.  I plan to get in shape (for real this time), quit smoking ($30 a carton, are you kidding me!?) and maintain a more positive outlook.
So, what was good in '06?  Uh . . . Meatloaf put out another album.  I ran into some old friends here on MySpace.  I became a moderator for OWR.  Got TONS of avvies on Neopets as well as getting myself some new sidebar themes.  Made some new friends.  And, of course, a whole 'nother year with my wonderful husband.  ^_^  Oh!  And we made it through a whole year without the juice getting cut off.  Near as I can remember anyway . . . . lmao

What was crap in '06?  All the damn construction for one.  114degree summer.  Driest autumn ever.  Frankie, Autumn and the kids leaving again.  :-(  And the constant company.  *ugh*  I guess that's really it.  So . . . the good outweighed the bad.  At least that's good.
