Julep: Gemini & Zoya: Aurora +Hair

Hey, guys. Sorry I've been MIA these last few days. Things have gotten pretty hectic around here. Hopefully these pretties will help make up for that.

Starting off with two coats of Gemini over silver and topcoated. Another one of those pulverized metallics and the base is kinda thick so I had some drying issues, but thankfully everything looks okay.

Minus my dirty fingers... sorry about that... Like I said, I don't know that much about Geminis, so here's what it says on the box:

Here's another shot where you can kinda see the blue tint a little better:

It's not quite as bright as I expected, but it's still really pretty.

Prior to Gemini I wore Zoya Aurora after noticing I hadn't actually done a full swatch of her...

Haven't had the sunniest days lately. That's indoors by lamp light. She still sparkles nicely, just really wish I had worn undies with her as well.

So there's that. Very pretty.

Before all the craziness started I managed to dye up my hair red with Jerome Russell Punky Color in Poppy Red.

That's my "I'm not sure if I like it or not" face. It's not that it isn't a pretty color, because it is; just that I'm used to the blues and purples.

Time to head back into the trenches. I'll try to catch up as soon as I have more time. Y'all take care out there and I'll be back at some point with some other color... See ya then! (^_^)"/"

Julep: Francine

There's a lot of love going on right now. Francine is super excited to have a nail polish named after her.

I love Francine and I also love Francine!

OHMYGAWD!!! This is two coats over Once Upon A Time plus topcoat. Francine is a bit jellyish which is why I went for undies and topcoat, but it was totally worth it to preserve this beauty.

No duochrome (that I noticed), no holo. Just gorgeous, glowing metallic goodness. I could not stop staring at my nails. @_@ Having the name "Francine" was just an added bonus. If you've ever seen the American Dad cartoon... Francine and I have a lot in common...

"I know it's not a lot,
but I can't handle much!"

Gemini has shipped and should be here soon. Among many, many other orders... I've been bad... lol Have a sort of #ThrowbackThursday coming up next. Man... I ate too much tacos for lunch and now I need a nap. Y'all take care out there! (^_^)"/"

Essence: Pink Up Your Life & China Glaze: Latticed Lilac

Oh my gawd you guys! LOL Aaron went to hang out with his friends and I didn't have to do any of the driving and I got so excited and invested in Fallout that I completely forgot today was blog day! I did remember to Instagram the crackle, though, so if you're on there then you know what's coming. What you may not know is that the pink base for the crackle is essence Pink Up Your Life:

Which is looking kind of coral to me in this picture, but in real life it's pink pink. Pink. Two coats, quick drying. A teensy bit more sheer than expected, but it's still pretty. In case you missed it, I paired Pink Up Your Life with China Glaze Latticed Lilac.

*phew* Been quite a road, huh? Fifteen crackles in a row. Goodness. I don't even know what to say. I've gotten so many likes and new followers doing the China Glaze crackle series on Instagram I really hope they take notice of the fact that people still like crackles!!

Okay, going to actually get this up before midnight my time so... I was productive! I also managed to get all of the achievements for the Fallout 4 Far Harbor DLC. So there's that. Coming up next I have a gorgeous Julep to share so come on back for that! In the meantime take care and I'll see y'all soon! (^_^)"/"

Models Own: Magpie & China Glaze: Broken Hearted

Hey guys! How's everybody doing today? Good, I hope. Today I have the fantabulous Models Own Magpie sent to me by the darling Norma. *hearts*

OMG!! Absolute polish love. Two coats, dried quickly. It is a bit more green in real life and there is a smidge of texture since I didn't topcoat, but nothing really noticeable unless you're looking for it.

Working our way through the list Magpie made an amazing (and much more contrasty) base for China Glaze's Broken Hearted:

I love that I was able to get the thicker cracks this time so you can see the glitters poking through while leaving the crackle-polish more opaque.

It's that time again! Time to pick or skip your Julep box. Thankfully nothing really grabbed me this month so I was able to skip, but I had to order Gemini. Not just because "well I'm already invested" (which I am), but also because zomg they went chartreuse!

Isn't that lovely?!?! I'll be honest, the few people that I've known as Geminis haven't really thrilled me, so if I have any Gemini readers please feel free to speak up! I probably have a few friends that I don't know are Geminis (I suck at birthdays) so I'm going to have to pay close attention to the facebook notices this cycle.

That's it for me. Shoulder is feeling a little better and I've started doing things to my hair. I kind of miss the purple already, but... time for change. Y'all take care out there and I'll be back in a couple of days with the last of my China Glaze crackles! (^_^)"/"

Revlon: Balsam Fir & China Glaze: Jade-D

Hello, lovelies. Still working on that shoulder, but if I sit a bit closer to the keyboard it's not so bad... Anyway, today I have my first Revlon Parfumerie polish to share with you! Gifted to me by a very special friend; I present Balsam Fir!

*swoons* Isn't that lovely? I've read mixed reviews about the consistency of the Parfumerie polishes (adding scent sometimes does wonky things to polish), but I didn't have any problems at all with Balsam Fir. Two coats, applied easily (almost no clean-up!) and dried pretty quickly. The scent itself is a bit hard to place. It's kind of piney? I guess like pine-scented perfume? *shrugs* Anyway, gorgeous color - gorgeous formula.

Balsam Fir also happened to make a great base for the fourth and final China Glaze glitter crackle: Jade-D!

Uhm.... *moves into the shade*

There we are. Sparkly olive green glitter crackle goodness. I would have really liked a more emerald green, but... this is pretty, too. I think there's something about the glitter crackles, because Jade-D also needed quite a bit of thinner. Which, if you haven't gotten the email, Julep is releasing a polish thinner this month! I hope it comes in the maven box or, at least, isn't too expensive to add on. I'm almost out...

So, next post should be a super fun combination. Only two more ChG crackles to go! Thank goodness. lol I love 'em, but I think I've had enough for a while. I ordered some fresh hair dye from amazon so there's that to look forward to. Yep, finally moving away from the purple. I love it, but... it's been too long. Also I have to renew my driver's license this year. *sigh* The sadness. I won't be going too boring, but even after a while blue and purple get kind of boring, too, so... yeah. Hair adventures incoming. I guess I should quit stalling and try to dress myself. Time doesn't stand still just because my arm hurts. Y'all take care out there and I'll see you soon! (^_^)"/"

Julep: Taurus & China Glaze: Lightning Bolt

Hey, guys! I got my Julep box!! ^_^ Thanks again to Julep's amazing customer service for getting it to me. I hurt my shoulder pretty badly during the night (and it still hurts) so I'm probably not going to ramble too much, but zomg check this out:

Two coats, no undies. I did topcoat for safety. Taurus is one of those pulverized metallics so cleanup was a bit of a pain, but nothing too terrible. Just little glittery bits sticking everywhere.

So pretty. Like Pisces I'm not 100% sure on the choice of color, but here's what the box says:

*shrugs* Video! I took this last night while the sun was setting.

Today's China Glaze crackle isn't terribly exciting, but Lightning Bolt is a solid polish with a nice crackle and what more can you ask for?

That's it for me. Need to find something to rub on my damn shoulder. Y'all take care out there and I'll be back soon! Hopefully back to 100%... (^_^)"/"

Color Club: We'll Never Be Royals VS ILNP: Cygnus Loop + China Glaze: Haute Metal

OMG YOU GUYS!! I'm just going to jump right in. Two coats of We'll Never Be Royals. Over black and with topcoat, but man just look:

So smooth and pretty! Oh yeah, I was going to start with "this is going to be a video-heavy post"...

We've got purple, red and orange and they blend seamlessly together. The only thing I could think to compare it to was ILNP Cygnus Loop.

They're actually fairly close-ish minus Cygnus Loop being way more blue than purple.

Crackle time! We're nearing the end of this run. Pairing with We'll Never Be Royals I have Haute Metal:

Pretty!

OH! Tracker says Taurus has been delivered! Time to run to the mailbox. Keep your eyes on my Instagram for first peeks on how the trip turns out. Or wait a couple of days. Whichever. Do what you feel. lol *puts on shoes* Y'all take care out there! (^_^)"/"

Orly: Thrill Seeker & China Glaze: Cracked Concrete

Hey, guys. Man oh man what a week. lol So today is another one of those polishes that Norma insisted I get. OMG I couldn't be happier!

BAM!! How do you like that in your eye holes? XD Thrill Seeker is a sometimes-yellow sometimes-green neon of epic proportions. I love how freakin' bright this is!! Two moderately quick drying coats over white undies. Absolutely fantastic.

This. Polish. Yes.

Of course I couldn't let a neon this gorgeous just slide by without being brought into the crackle rotation. Thrill Seeker made a glorious base for China Glaze's Cracked Concrete.

Oof... Just look at that. Absolutely no problems with this crackle. As good as it ever was.

I am so happy with this combination.

Brace yourselves. Up next I'm going to have one of the three Color Club Oil Slick polishes I have waiting patiently. Come on back to see which one! hehehehe Y'all take care out there. (^_^)"/"

Julep: Lydia & Brandis + China Glaze: Glam-More

As promised I've got two gorgeous (and well-behaved!) Juleps to share. Starting with two coats of the omg super sparkly texture Julep Lydia:

Yep, it was gloomy outside. Which is kind of okay because Lydia is a gorgeous "gloomy" grey with tons of gold sparkle.

So much prettier than I expected! ^_^ I mean, I expected it to be kind of pretty, but I didn't expect it to be this pretty.

Going in a completely different direction Brandis is a bright blue basic cream.

Two coats, dried fairly quickly, absolutely no issues with this one.

Brandis also made a fine base to pair with China Glaze Glam-More:

I know. It looks a bit uneven from nail to nail. Glam-More needed a lot of thinning. Here's my first attempt:

So thick and my pinkie barely crackled at all. That made me a little gun-shy for the second attempt... at least these pictures are way more color accurate than my previous post.

Just six more to go. ^_^

Coming up next I have Orly Thrill Seeker which I will be pairing with another crackle. Then... decisions. lol Up to this point I've had a decent buffer between pictures and upcoming posts, but now I'm caught up again. Damn my laziness!! LOL I'll figure it out. Many pretties. *ahem* Anyway, hope everyone is having a great week. I'll be back in a couple of days with some shocking neon! (^_^)"/"

S-he Stylezone: 311 & China Glaze: Oxidized Aqua

Hey, lovelies. I'm sure most of you will understand I'm kicking off 'that time of the month' with a vengeance (ow) and not really feeling anything, so... bear with me. lol

Okay, so we're starting off with two coats of S-he Stylezone's 311. Fairly quick dry time. Not 100% sure if this is green or blue... I kept thinking it was green, but then it looked more blue and now in the pictures it's leaning green in the thumbnails and blue full size...

311 was a dream to apply. Which is good because what little cleanup I had to do was a sloshy mess since this color (whatever it is lol) is so pigmented.

Back around to metallic crackle with China Glaze Oxidized Aqua. My first ever China Glaze crackle! I had issues with it the first time, and also this time, but thankfully I still have a little polish thinner left.

Little hard to see the contrast in full sun...

That's better.

Gotta share a little Julep love. I was really hoping to post Taurus today, but my maven box never arrived despite being marked as "delivered". I did give it a couple of days before emailing customer service. My CS rep Katie S was really nice and understanding and re-sent my box right away; even though the tracker does say that it was delivered to my address. I really wish it had been, because I really wanted to post Taurus today... and it's almost a $45 box. That's a lot of money to just say "meh" to. So for a bit of good luck and as a "thank you" to Julep's quick and kindly response I'll be featuring two Juleps along with my next crackle on Tuesday. For now I'm going to go track down some chocolate.... y'all take care out there! (^_^)"/"

Essence: Wave Down The Lime & Milani: Green Glow & China Glaze: Black Mesh

Yep, a lot to cover today! These pics are from a couple of days ago when we got a surprise storm so the lighting isn't the best. Which is unfortunate because minus some drying issues (probably from the humidity) essence Wave Down The Lime is way prettier in person:

Two coats, fair dry time. No undies requires, so that was nice. There is a slight shimmer I was having a hard time capturing. Wave Down The Lime isn't quite as green as I thought, but that's where Milani's Green Glow comes to the rescue!

A super sheer topper that (for me) would not quite work on its own. Green Glow does give a gorgeous shimmery green wash of color and I didn't have any drying issues. *thumbs up*

Crackle time! I had a bit of an oopsie moment because I was going to pair this lovely green with a pink crackle and instead grabbed Black Mesh. Still a cute combo.

Not terribly exciting, but basic black is a must have, imo. Norma brought it to my attention that it looks like I have some serious shrinkage going on there, but that's because I was just trying to get it on for pics and didn't want to bother with cleanup so that's what it looks like when I'm overly careful. *oops*

So, that's it. Still waiting on my Julep box. I hope it comes in today. I want to wear Taurus!! My nails have been naked for going on two days in anticipation. O_O Yeah. It's that critical. lol Welp, time to get back to working on my goal so I can jump on the new Fallout 4 Survival Mode without triple tasking. Y'all take care and I'll see you again soon! (^_^)"/"

Sinful Colors: Sweet Tooth & China Glaze: Luminous Lavender

Hello, lovelies. This is going to be the first of possibly a handful of mish-mash posts. You'll see. First, though, I'd like to share one of the 'new' Sinful Color texture polishes: Sweet Tooth!

Look how bright! @_@ This is three coats of Sweet Tooth because it was a bit sheer. It's kind of like the Zoya PixieDust textures since it does have a smattering of sparkle. It's more like teeny flakies than glitters.

*oof* I did not expect this to be as bright as it is. I love it!! *hearts* Still trying to hunt down the blue and green ones...

You maybe be wondering if crackle polish works over texture polish. That's... a good question, actually.... *tests*.... *tests a different color*... uhm.... sort of but not really

Hrm... Anyway, and like I said before I was kind of running out of matching pairs; so I just decided to pull out Zoya Marley to pair with China Glaze Luminous Lavender:

Officially 1/3 of the way through my ChG crackles! Exciting.

There we go in the shade. Speaking of exciting! Guess what I got in the mail yesterday. ^_^

If you guessed "nail polish" you deserve a cookie. lol Sorry, Not Sorry and Cash Only which means only two left to complete the collection! *happy dance* I should also be getting my Julep box today or tomorrow. The tracker said "delivered", but mail hasn't come yet and I checked last night. We shall see.

Also, totally unrelated to anything: I opened a SmartyPig account. (not an affiliate link; US citizens can email me if you'd like a referral to help me out) It's like a savings account where you set a goal and it makes automatic deposits (from your funding source) to help you reach your goal. It earns interest like a normal savings account, so... my first savings account! Baby-step adulting. I'm a bit nervous about making sure that extra $10 is in my bank account (in addition to Netflix and the service fee amounts), but... I think I can do it. Don't really have a specific goal, but saving up for a rainy day is good, yeah? Sure. This is going to be a totally non-nail polish set-aside. *nods* Adulting.

Welp, that's enough rambling. Time to get back to making that money. Y'all take care out there! (^_^)"/"

Sinful Colors: Trump Card & I'm All In + China Glaze: Tarnished Gold

Hey, guys.... so, change of plans. Looks like I'll be hanging around here a bit longer. Y'all don't mind, right? I have pretty pretty polishes...

Starting off with two coats of Trump Card which is an okay white cream, but it has gold shimmer!

Can you see the shimmer?

How 'bout now? >_> You can see it there in the bottle. It was visible in real life, but with the weather we've been having...

Since I'm All In is a colored sheer topcoat I opted to layer her over the white so you could see the color:

Pink. The color is pink. lol There's a really nice blue and pink iridescent shimmer and some red heart and black diamond glitters in there for good measure. Which I literally had to scoop out onto my palette and dig out with a toothpick otherwise there wouldn't have been any on my nails. So... yeah...

Crackle time! Today's featured crackle polish is China Glaze Tarnished Gold. Which looks way better over white than it did over that blue:

Nice, huh?

That's it for me. Working down the line... sounds like thunder again so I should go before the power knocks out. Y'all take care out there. (^_^)"/"
