Decluttering Update #11

Yay! Three months in a row! ^_^ Little earlier than I normally post my empties, but I feel like if I wait 'til tomorrow then I'll forget, so... I'll just do it now. Not like I plan on using up anything today or tomorrow.

Starting with:

This little tube of GlamGlow Power Mud cleanser that I believe Jasmine sent. It's like a mask/cleanser that's supposed to really get in and clean out your pores. I used a Biore pore strip after and it still pulled out tons of gunk (gross), but it felt really good on my skin and left my face really soft.

Cute little tin of Hello Kitty Bebe hand cream from gin shivers. I loved this so much. It was kind of thick, but absorbed really quickly. It smelled nice and, of course, I'm hanging onto the tin. I'll think of something to put in it.

Two Julep products!

I didn't technically finish this. My backup bottle suffered from some evaporation (WHAT?!) so I dumped what little was left into that. I love this stuff so much; if they offered it free in the Maven boxes more often I just might scrounge enough for more Maven boxes.

This stuff... I'm glad to not have it hanging over my head anymore. It's not a terrible product, but as an 'after shower' step I just had the hardest time remembering to use it. Not to mention wet-from-shower and "dry" oil made holding and using the bottle difficult. They should put it in the kind of spray bottle that has a trigger. That would be much easier to use when wet.

Pantene BB Creme for hair! I love this stuff and will repurchase as soon as Walgreens (or HEB) has another good sale. It made my hair feel so soft before and after straightening. The "before" being the impressive part. lol

Little tube of CeraVe face cream I picked up at my mom's dermatologist. Didn't use it regularly, but... ya know... it's lotion.

So sad to see this one go! I love the DKNY Be Delicious scents and Fresh Blossom was so nice. Flowery and sweet, but not too sweet. Very fresh and feminine, but not overly adult either. Although if I was going to pay money I'd get the green apple one, Fresh Blossom runs a close second.

Thanks to BzzAgent I feel like I've talked this deodorant to death. lol This is the sample they sent and I did actually buy a full size since Walgreens had it on sale. It's a pretty good product, especially if you wear a lot of dark clothes (yes, even in the summer) and unlike previous gels I've tried it dried really quickly. The "epic 48" ("where 24 hours feels like 48") claim was total bull for me, but I sweat a lot so I don't know why I was expecting miracles. Still, it's not any worse than other products I've tried (and better than a few) so it's worth grabbing on sale.

Okay... so I picked this up at one of my first Sally's sales *cough~threeyearsago~coughcough* and finally used it up. Nothing wrong with it, just had it tucked away by my bed for emergencies so it often got forgotten.

Ah, HEB and their samples. I only got one this time (unlike the week's worth of the Garnier I nabbed when they had the samples hidden away in the back of cosmetics) so I can't say how well it works over time, but it lathered up well and smelled nice and, ya know, free.

Woohoo! A whole ten! Doubt I'll do as well next month, but there are a few products I'm being mindful to use (fairly) regularly. So September (and subsequently October and November) is fast approaching. Last night I sat down and wrote out the after-tax cost of everything in my queue and how much I have actually saved up. Did a little head-math for a conservative estimate and I think I'll be okay. I most definitely would if I hadn't decided last minute on Aaron's surprise birthday present. If I can stay focused for the next two months and not splurge anymore... I think I can do it. Wish me luck! I'll be back September 2nd with two Sinful swatches. Hope everyone had a fantastic summer! Essence: I Don't Care! I Love It!

Hello, darlings! Today I'm super excited to share essence I Don't Care! I Love It!. Yeah, that's kind of a mouthful. Absolutely worth the effort to say, though. I Don't Care! I Love It! is a super stunning green, blue, purple multichrome! Yep, one color better than the standard green-purple duochromes.

Of course, like most duo/multi-chromes, the color you see depends a lot on lighting and angle. I'd also like to note that I Don't Care! I Love It! is insanely sheer so this is two coats over black.

I suppose that makes the name entirely appropriate as I Don't Care! that it's so sheer I Love It! anyway. lol *ahem* Video!

Isn't that pretty? It makes me happy. You know what else makes me happy? For those of you who missed them on facebook and Instagram:

New contacts! My sister thought it was funny to say that of course it's not contacts, but... it's contacts. lol I got these White Mesh Contacts from pinkyparadise.com and they do come with prescription for about $30 all together with shipping! I was a bit concerned because following problems with paypal (which they are working to resolve) they switched to a payment thingy called Skrill? Which I had never heard of and was wary of using, but everything worked fine and I got my lenses in under two weeks! They are super comfortable, but a tad hard to see through. Like trying to look through a dirty window. I'm getting used to them, though, so hopefully soon I can wear them out of the house. hehehehe

Now... my shame... I know I'm saving up for Xbox One and I've been doing so well abstaining from all of these amazing sales going on, but when Zoya says "Limited Time" and "Exclusive" and "not for individual sale" and "free".... I get weak. So very weak.

I was worried because when I checked this morning my order showed "pending stock availability" for the trio, but it's in there now and will hopefully ship soon. *fingers crossed*

Okay, so last post of the month will be my massive empties post. Then I will start off September (omg September already?!) with the two pink "neon" Sinful Colors. With comparisons! I will also have something a little different as I will be reviewing some razors I got from BzzAgent to try. Fun things coming soon. Hope everyone had a fantastic month. Take care, stay cool and be safe. (^_^)"/"

Sinful Colors: RADiant, Hazed & Fierce Fiesta

So I mentioned previously how much I'm loving this "chalky" collection and how opaque the pastels are and the matte finish is fantastic... What I don't understand is what RADiant and Hazed are doing in this collection. So I could have googled first and skipped these two all together; and a lot of people were super excited about the "matte jellies"... I am not. You know me, you know this about me. I hate jellies. Fortunately since they are matte these two didn't take forever to dry, but they're still super sheer (great if you like that sort of thing, I guess) so I swatched them both over Wet n Wild Once Upon A Time (silver version) and... I still don't understand what these two have to do with the other four...

Starting with two coats of RADiant:

It's not horrid, but I never would have gotten this if it hadn't been paired with the pastels and black. I mean, I could still see the silver shimmer under RADiant! I guess it would make for a neat effect, but still. It's red.

Sort of red. lol It looks more red in real life.

Up next is two coats of Hazed:

Over silver this reminds me of China Glaze Flying Dragon without the glitters. Without the silver... well... this is the mani I borked and couldn't show earlier.

So, yeah... there's those. Some people will love them. I'm just not one of those people. Maybe they'll work for some layered stamping since that keeps eluding me...

In an effort to conserve cotton balls I decided to go ahead and try Fierce Fiesta over these:

A fun (FIESTA!) mix of red, pink, yellow and blue glitters. There is some bar glitter in there (which I know some people abhor), but they're pretty sparse and I only had to re-arrange two that ended up hanging off the edge.

I love those massive glitters mixed in there. Also, I don't think I topcoated this. Conservation since it didn't really need it.

I think that's it. Up next I'll have a gorgeous essence that I've put off for far too long followed by a sort-of-early empties post. Hope everyone is having a great start to their week and good luck to everybody starting school! (^_^)"/"

#SBBNailChallenge - 37 - Skittle

Hey, guys! As promised I am back with a very special mani. ^_^ The super amazing Joyce over at What's On My Nails Today always has the most super amazing skittlette manis, so today's #SBBNailChallenge is for her!

Ooooohhhhh aaaaahhhhhh Trying to put this together gave me so much respect for Joyce. It's hard! Took me forever to narrow down which color I wanted to do, then even longer to figure out which polishes I could use in that color. I think it turned out pretty good, though.

There's a pic in the sunset. lol Yes, you may have noticed, I did cut my nails down. I was doing really good filing them for a while then... I forgot and they got way too long. I need to remember to do some awesome full-nail stamping while they're short...

OH! *facepalm* I almost forgot:

Joyce always shows which polishes she used so I made sure to remember this time. lol I used essie Penny Talk for the stamping, Models Own Pray as the base for stamping, Polish Yer Hooves Yippee-I-Ay Cow Patty on my pinkie and thumb and Pure Ice I'll Never Tell on my index finger since apparently I don't have any brown texture polishes.

Ka-chick! So, Joyce, did I make you proud? ^_^

So... I think I don't have a backlog of pics now. I'm going to do my nails at some point today for the 24th. Promise! I do have a ton of empties for the end of the month, so that's coming up, too. Hope everyone has a fantastic day and I will see you soon! (^_^)"/"

Sinful Colors: A-Crush

Hello, darlings. Thanks to the 99cent Sinful Colors sale I'm back to having a ton of polish to swatch. lol So I'm starting with the collection that most intrigued me because.... they're supposed to be like chalk on a chalkboard. Matte and opaque. So let's see how A-Crush (the blue one) lived up to that.

This is two fast drying coats, although one would have sufficed. I just don't trust one coat with my spazzy cleanup. lol

The finish is "demi-matte" (or semi- or kinda-) which is fine. If I want it more matte I can always add a matte topcoat, yeah? But what about this "chalkboard" gimmick thing they got going on?

Pow! Totally opaque over black. I'm super pleased with this. They do dry pretty quickly so I don't know how this would work for stamping, but I'm going to give it a shot! In the meantime, here's a quick look at the other colors over black:

The two on the right are "matte jellies" which means they are more sheer on the nail than they're looking in that test picture. I tried wearing Hazed (the dark purple) and... that was a mess. I'll try again later. Given the colors, had I known that ahead of time, I would not have gotten them. Ah well. Live and learn. (also, the two on the left were quick last-minute additions, that's why they look streaky)

In three days (they're going by kinda quickly...) I'll be posting a special mani inspired by Joyce's super cute skittlettes. It's been so long since I've done anything even remotely skittle-like (the closest being that accent nail one), but I'm really happy with it. I hope she is, too. So, I will see y'all then. Take care and enjoy what's left of the summer! (^_^)"/"

Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate BP49 & Lizard Decals

Hello, lovelies! Today I'm reviewing two items I got from Born Pretty Store. Starting with Stamping Plate BP49 which I ordered as soon as I saw it, and it arrived super quickly!!

Sailor Moon designs! The planetary symbols could be written off as non-specific, but this plate also includes her scepter and transformation brooch. Love!

Initially I was concerned about isolating specific images, but then I thought "I'll just go over my whole nail!" and that worked perfectly. I had no issues with any of the images transferring. This is my new favorite stamping plate.

For those who are interested I used Color Club Eternal Beauty as my base and Color Club Beyond for the stamping. Stamping Plate BP49 is currently on sale for $1.49 so now is the perfect time to snatch one up!

I ordered the Lizard print water decals a while ago and finally decided to give them a shot.

These are great for when you want some nail art, but don't feel like going through the trouble of doing it yourself. There are 14 decals in 7 different sizes so you can choose which ones fit your nails best. They were all a little small on my nails so I applied these over black polish.

This is so cool and I didn't have the same problems with bunching that I had with other full-nail decals. The lizard print water decals are $2.53 for a set, but they come in a variety of designs and you can get discounted pricing on ordering more.

Hope you enjoyed my reviews. Let me know if you get either of these and I want to see pictures! Stay cool and safe. Love you guys! (^_^)"/"

Sinful Colors: Shamrockin' + #SBBNailChallenge - 22 - Accent Nail

omg You guys. My nails are getting to the point where it hurts to type, but wouldn't ya know it? Broke as hell and out of polish remover so I'm going to have to deal and hope my mani (which I still have to get pics of) holds out just a little bit longer.

So I've been working on this "accent nail" prompt for a while and have had just the hardest time. Finally I came up with this simplified mani that also serves to showcase Sinful Colors Shamrockin' finally:

Shamrockin' is a simple, yet cool, white and light green glitter with some white "flowers"/"shamrocks" thrown in. I did fish out that one flower, but it was on the neck so it would have come out next anyway. This is two coats of Shamrockin' plus topcoat. For the base colors I used a couple of essence favorites: Riot Grrr-een and Riot @ *heart* as my accent.

To justify this particular "ka-chick" I'm going to share a more detailed accent mani that... wasn't an entire fail, but wasn't quite a win either:

I had to wear Butter London Slapper (which looks more color accurate above than it did in my original post) and then went crazy trying to turn the stamping into the accent. Started with some full-nail geometric lines in essence Inkheart and Konad Special White; topped off with some Sanrio characters in Konad Special White and essence Groupie At Heart which worked surprisingly well! Just that some of the characters had a lot of stamped area and took longer to dry than I anticipated so I got a lot of drag with the topcoat... *sigh* Try imagining it pristine. It would've been a total win. lol

That is all for now. I have another SC swatch coming up and since I just got my Sailor Moon plate in I've played around with that. I may tack it onto the SC post. Depends on the polish remover situation. lol I've also been trying out some moisturizers I found while cleaning my mom's room. Did I say that already? It's so hot I feel like my memory is melting. Hope everyone is staying cool this summer. Love you guys! (^_^)"/"

Sinful Colors: The Bright Thing vs Neon Melon

So anybody who knows me even the least little bit knows that I have a bit of an insane obsession a soft spot for neons. hehehe So when Walgreens had their 99cent sale (might still be going on; I suck at time) I decided to grab all the Wag's exclusives. Even after catching a few bits about "they're not that good" "the formula sucks" blah blah blah. We've been through this song and dance before.

I own a ton of neon polish. That's a given. The fun, for me, with neons is finding the absolute brightest ones. I haven't done nearly enough comparisons, but Neon Melon has always stood out as the best and brightest of my neon yellows. So I've started with the exclusive yellow The Bright Thing:

Which... uhm... okay, this is two coats over white. The formula was maybe a little thick, but not unworkable and it didn't take forever to dry. I've worked with far worse polishes.

Personally, I don't understand how this can be called "neon". When I wore it I was hanging out with Aaron and one of his friends and they both said it looked neon to them, so maybe I've desensitized my eyes to brightness?

Comparison time!

On the left we have The Bright Thing and on the right we have Neon Melon.

TBT on pinkie, middle and thumb; NM on ring and index. I will concede that The Bright Thing is a more true yellow than Neon Melon (which has a touch of green), but side-by-side the difference in brightness is even more noticeable.

Especially in the shade where neons, in my experience, really show what makes them special.

I will say that I did really enjoy wearing The Bright Thing which is pretty special for a yellow. That's that one. I'm going to take a side trip into nail art and a semi-matte SC before coming back around for another exclusive neon comparison. That should give me time to figure out what to compare them with. Or to. Either? *shrugs* You know what I mean. Hrm... I think that's it. Time to get back to cleaning. Y'all take care out there. (^_^)"/"

Profusion Eyeshadow Palettes: Neon & Smoky

Okay, so this is a little different for me. If you're with me on Instagram then you likely saw my descent into madness...

All I can say is that I've been trying so hard to be so good for so long that when I accomplished something and saw a sale... *shrugs* I went a little nuts. To sort of redeem myself (and justify getting both) I'm going to do a quick review of the Profusion eyeshadow palettes. There is a third called Rosy, but I wasn't really feeling that one. I picked these up at HEB (grocery store) for $3/each.

First one that caught my eye is Neon. You can see on the left there that the little heart is a magnetic flap to help keep the lid closed.

So the colors aren't really neon. A few of them are bright and they all have this metallic/shimmery finish I couldn't resist.

Here is where I totally spazzed out... the arm swatches are showing bottom right to top left... sorry about that.

^^indoors with flash

^^outside in the sun

I tried the blue one today and the texture is really soft and powdery, but not so much that it falls out everywhere. Pictures didn't quite come out so I will attempt more later. It's so hot down here...

I got the Smoky one because...

Green! hehehe I know, I'm terrible. This one is swatched in the more logical top left to bottom right order.

^^indoors with flash

^^outside in the sun

Now here's where I'm a little confused and maybe somebody can help me with this:

"Not Tested On Animals", but "Made In China"? Is the testing only required if they sell in China? Did they finally join the 21st century and stop requiring it? Anybody?

So, yeah, that's that. Since it's still moderately relevant next post is going to be a comparison between Walgreen's exclusive Sinful Colors The Bright Thing and the long time favorite Neon Melon. Then I'll get to some nail arts so I can get these polishes put back away. lol Hope everyone's having a fantastic week. (^_^)"/"
