Essence: My Sunny Side (plusplusplus)

Man... When I first started painting this was going to be a semi-short post, but so much has happened. Today we're having "Storytime With Lizzy" and a narrative on how quickly life's ups & downs can come at you.

So I was in a pretty crummy mood for most of the weekend. Hormones the likely culprit. Then I started feeling a bit better. I mentioned yesterday I wanted to swatch My Sunny Side and I've been wanting to use the rhinestones that came with the stamping contraption my mom got for me. So I did.

That's two coats of My Sunny Side, fast dry time, no application issues. That wonky bit on my middle finger is from my nail peeling, not a chip in the polish. I applied a third coat on my ring finger and just squished the rhinestones into that. Quick layer of topcoat and they're all still there. 24 hours later. Worked better than I expected.

While we were waiting for Under The Dome to come on Aaron was watching wrestling. I haven't paid it much attention for a while (all the guys I like are gone...), but then out of nowhere, what do we hear? "Randy Orton facing off against Goldust later tonight" WHAT?! No freaking way! Yes freaking way, apparently. It was one helluva match, even though he lost.... "Why are you bothering us with pro-wrestling stuff?" Well, cuz it's my blog and Goldust is one of my faves from back in the day and I guess you don't know what Goldust looks like so check this and then scroll back up to my nail arts.

I had a psychic mani! LOL The other best part? The match was 20 minutes which we thought was going to cut into the beginning of Under The Dome, but something set CBS 20 minutes late so I got to catch the whole thing of that, too! Needless to say, despite the loss, I was pretty excited.

Then this morning y'all helped jack me up enough to venture out to Ulta and guess what they had?

A brand new, fully stocked PixieDust display! :D I grabbed (left-to-right) Chita, Dhara and Tomoko. They also had several other fresh displays (including the 'feathery' China Glazes), but I was trying to be responsible. Even went by the bank and deposited some buffer-money for the tablet.

Came home and placed an order with BornPrettyStore. I applied to review one of their products and was accepted and they sent me this:

That's not an affiliate link or anything, just a discount code for ya. If I have 10 takers they'll sponsor a giveaway so go go go! Anyway, since they gave me all that I decided to place an order (using Jasmine's affiliate link and code). I'll be getting three cute stamping plates, three sets of water decals and a "grab bag" that will include three random items. ^_^ Can't wait to see what they are. All that for $10.10. Not bad, eh?

Then we went towards Austin to look for costume stuff. Picked up stuff for Aaron's Frank N Furter costume. Then... *sigh* I swear, if I had seen any flashing school zone lights I would have slowed down! Aaron didn't see any either or he would have pointed them out. That's how it works. That's how it always works. Until now. In Florence of all places. Stupid backwards podunk town. >_< So I got a ticket. I am upset about it. My dad (who is thankfully home) kept a cool head about it, called the legal counsel that Schneider keeps on retainer (he pays $9/week for that) to make sure it covers family members. So tomorrow I'm faxing all of this crap to the legal services people and Thursday I call to set up an appointment with a lawyer. I don't know how much good it's going to do (Florence has a "zero tolerance policy in school zones"), but... there are some positives. Those assholes ticket everybody because it's the only way their town makes money and they don't expect people to fire back with actual real legal counsel; and I kinda get to feel like a spoiled rich girl and say "My daddy got me a lawyer". :p The guy they sent for his bullshit ticket was really good and got it dismissed so *fingers crossed*. Wish me luck...

OMG I almost forgot the other bad part of that! I picked up some purple hair dye from Sally's and now I'll have to wait to use it! *CRIES* Was going to wash my hair tonight and dye it tomorrow, but no. And I'm put in the position of being overly responsible and so I'm hanging onto that tablet extra monies until I figure out if I'm going to have to pay these court fees or anything. *sigh* Also, now I have to google how to make a fax coversheet.... Balls.

Tomorrow I'm starting off with Tomoko. I think when I first saw swatches I was most excited about that one. Even more than the green. I know! Something about it. Partly the name. lol I think that's everything. Time to catch up on emails then turning in early. Hope everyone's having a better week than I am! (^_^)"/"

    1. I did! Aaron had a good laugh over it, too. I've got Tomoko on now and it is *sigh* so pretty. Very classy. Every time I wear a new PixieDust it just reminds me I have to get them all!! ;)

    1. *giggles* I did! :D Even from the first promo bottle shots I knew I had to. ^_^ I have been dying for a more green PixieDust! And I had to get Dhara because Chita and Tomoko together just looked too Christmasy. Adding orange turns the trio into Halloween colors. hehehehe

  5. Love the manicure!! I love sparklies. Can't wait to see Pixie Dust in action. Boo on the ticket! I hate small towns that have speed traps. When we go visit my hubby's grandma, we pass through a few small towns like that. We have to be careful with our speed (and fix our headlight which I did). Hopefully the results will be minimal.

    1. OMG it was awful. Never had a problem going through there before, but... prolly the football team needs new helmets or something. >_< I definitely want to try and do more with the rhinestones, I just have a hard time figuring out WHAT to do...
