Blog In June: Day 2

Today's prompt:
Where you'd like to be in 10 years

This is kind of a tough one for me. Whenever I'm posed this question I end up being very very wrong...

In ten years I would like to be living near Austin, perhaps in a quiet part of Georgetown. Aaron finished with his schooling by then and doing fx for movies, theatrical productions or even haunted houses in the area. I could work at a museum or something in Austin. That would be cool. No kids... unsure if I'd want any more furbabies. Onyx will be gone by then and we've had so many... the sickness and death is starting to wear on me. (Saleen's still "ok" at the moment, but if she doesn't eat soon...)

Sorry, probably not what you were expecting, but this question has been taunting me since 5th grade.

Tomorrow's prompt:
Your views on drugs and alcohol

Now that's one I can tackle with some gusto.

  1. Oooh that would be so cool to work at a museum! I would want to work at one of those big ones like the met! Or a zoo, I would totally be a zookeeper! Oooh that would be awesome!
Looking forward to tomorrow's post, really excited to see what your view is hehe

    1. hehehe A zoo would be pretty awesome, too. As long as I didn't have a position that forced me to get emotionally attached to the animals. lol

    2. Oh geez, I didn't even think about that, on second thought, no zoo for me.... I don't even want any pets any more after I gave my cat away :/

  2. Actually your post strikes me as being very realistic. Heck no one 'really' knows if they'll even be alive in 10 years (sorry I'm a realist and sometimes that can border on morbid :/). So those types of questions are great for people who'd like to imagine and dream but no one knows where they'll be in 10 years.

  3. This one was a tough one for me too. If you would have asked me in middle school or high school where I would be in 10 years; it is very different than where I am at. I love my life, but I wanted more. I guess I have 10 years to get that more. It breaks my heart when one of my furbies pass away. They are members of the family. It was heartbreaking for me to put my cat that I had for 16 years to sleep on Christmas Eve. All of our animals live to be a very old age. I couldn't imagine not having them though.

    1. A few years ago we lost our dog that Aaron had for 20 years. Onyx will be 14 this year and I got her when she was a kitten... She's still in good health, but so was Elvis 'til near the end. :( We've had several rescues that lasted a few years after we got them and that doesn't even make it any easier. *sigh* I love my furbabies dearly, but... we'll just have to see what happens.

    2. You guys are going to make me cry! One of my biggest fears is coming home and finding that my cat has passed on. She's 12 now so there's still (hopefully) many years left but still. The thought of losing her (no matter how many times she pushes my buttons on a daily basis hehe ;) ) is heartbreaking. I totally sympathize with what you guys are saying :(

    3. *hugs* Just make sure you give her as much love as she'll let you. And then some.

    4. Lizzy, I love how you put it "as she'll let you". We all know cats only want love on their schedule. lol Like in the middle of the night or 4:30 in the morning...

    5. lol Very true. When they want it, they want it; when they don't... they really don't. :p
