OPI: Not Like The Movies & Piggy Polish: Glitter-Azzi Tips

Hiyee. :D Yep. I did it. Finished off my OPI collection. I know a lot of people are obsessed with OPI. They do have some good colors and the bottles are pretty big and hefty and some of the names are rather amusing. I dunno, though. There's just something about them overall that rubs me the wrong way and I just can't put my finger on it. I do love I Have A Herring Problem... perhaps it's the price. Like Not Like The Movies I got on super-clearance for $4.25 or something? Which is unheard of for me. Whenever I find OPI in the Ulta clearance rack it's $6.50 minimum which is seriously off-putting. So even though I already had a small handful of purple-green duochromes at the time I almost felt obliged to grab this one while it was so cheap.

Not Like The Movies is another one of these maddeningly sheer p2g duochromes. I don't understand the problem. Essence nailed it. Whatever. This one has the scattering of shimmer in it which does add some interest. I should have layered this over silver.... :p This is three coats by the way. I was going to go for a fourth but bedtime was nearing. So, I guess the one thing I can say for NLTM is that it does dry really quickly. Three coats and no sheet marks? Sweeeeeeet.

.....where'd the green go? It was there when I took the picture! *sigh* I did manage to catch it last July if you want to see that here. You can kind of see it flash on the sides of my nails if you look closely... -_-

Since I've kinda been on a kick about fixing polish problems; funky french tips are a super easy way to disguise VNL. This time I decided to go 2 for 2 and finish off my Piggy Polish collection and used Glitter-azzi for my tips!

OOOOOOooooooooh.... AAAAaaaaaahhhh..... sparkly. :D The unintentionally great thing about this idea is that indoors I get the full duochrome effect from the OPI and not so much glitter. Outdoors where NLTM craps out Piggy Polish picks up the slack. Awesome! It's not full cover, but it possibly could be. Check this out:

Not bad, huh? Three or four coats and you could blind a person with your nails. Way more densely packed than White Noise. Don't click that link... it's atrocious. :p

You guys.... I may have a teensy problem. According to KarenD's fearless investigatory skills it seems like Ulta will have Butter London's Sweetie Shop collection for the $9 sale... I think I'm going to have to go check them out.... hehehe May not even grab one after seeing them in person, but I have to look. Also, I haven't checked out their clearance stuff in a while. Bright and early on the 15th!

Hopefully my geese-poop polish (Budding Romance) will get here tomorrow. Left Austin at 8am. *ugh* I feel like I've been waiting forever. Always with the waiting! .....is that seriously it? I guess so. Wow. Tomorrow will be pastel orangey goodness with Orange Cream and Peach Pop for Abbie! I can't wait. :D Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

  1. Opi's not like the movies reminds me of butter London knackered (w/o the holo sparkles). Or zoya ki except ki is 2 coats. Which butter London were you planning to pick up? I only buy opi when its on clearance at target for $4.75 or when my friend goes to the beauty supply store where she has a license and gets them for $4. Its strange but I see opi for $8 and I think its too expensive but I'll cave for $8 zoyas if I really want the color

    1. OMG Me, too! There's just something posh about the Zoyas that make them feel like it's okay that they're $8 whereas OPI kinda feels like it should be a little less. Weird, huh? I have Knackered, too... Went through a phase where I couldn't pass up a p2g duochrome. :p I don't know if I'll get any BLs, but some of those Sweetie Shop colors look pretty. I wish Ulta carried Swinger! That's the one I really want, but I've only been able to find it online.

    2. Lol, I wanted swinger too!! But it looks so similar to sinful colors call you later (which I have) so I passed. Maybe the zoyas feel so posh because the bottles are Italian made :P
