Julep: Joan & Pure Ice: Booty Call

Hiyee! Starting to get late, but I'm here now. This post is going to be a little backwards. I had no idea what I was going to wear today until we went out for some coffee and my Juleps were waiting for me on the doorstep. :) So I went through my box and decided to swatch the one I was least enthused about. Can you guess?

Which one could Joan possibly be? Hrm? LOL Before I get to that, here's the other stuff that came in my February Maven box!

Chocolate hearts, an eyelash curler (??) and this polymer topcoat.... It says "applies like a polish but acts like a gel". It smells like chemical glue. It dried pretty quickly, but Aaron doesn't like the smell (seriously, worse than KleanColor) so I don't think I'll be using it much. Okay, on to Joan!

Two coats. Joan is a sort of plummy brick red with gold shimmers.

I actually don't mind this too much. It's un-red enough. lol Even so I couldn't stop myself from glittering all over it.

That's one coat of Booty Call. hehehehe A nearly full cover purple glitter with a smattering of medium silver glitters.

Aaron and I went to check out the new HEB they put up in Cove. They had the old Muppets glitter collections up (so weird which polishes they stock) and I noticed that Booty Call is identical to OPI's Divine Swine. I wasn't about to lay down $8 just to do a comparison, but you can see. Actually, I think Booty Call might actually be more full coverage. While we're on it I'm going to go so far as to say that Stop Flirtin is a dupe for Gone Gonzo, and I'm pretty sure PI had a green one, but if they did I didn't get it for some reason. The question here isn't "Why is Pure Ice copying OPI?" The question is "Why pay 4x as much for OPI when Pure Ice can make the same polish for $2?". :p

Tomorrow is Sinful Saturday! I've got two lined up for you. Until then I think I'll take myself a nice pre-dinner nap. ;) Hope everyone's had a great week!
