Revlon: Beach & Newspaper Art

Yes, yes, "finally". I know. I'm so awful. lol I don't know why I decided on Revlon Beach last night, but I did. I picked it up because it's just one of those kinds of green that I lurve, but then I never used it. I just have so many polishes to go through! So last night I did and it was kind of a weird experience. It is one of those scented polishes, but it took me a while to pinpoint what sort of beach-y smell it could be.

That's three coats and there is still a bit of VNL. I think a fourth might have remedied that, but I keep having issues with dry time. After it dried and the polish-smell went away I think I may have figured out the scent. It smells kind of like tanning oil. Not sunblock; tanning oil. My granny used to use it and that's kind of what it smells like.

Pretty. :) I did paint my thumb with two coats of Snow Me White in preparations for some newspaper art testing.

It's the caveman from the B.C. comic strip! You know, cuz he's always writing those tablets at the beach... Ok, turns out this stupid town's suckiness is now being reflected in a very sad selection of newspaper comics. Still, it looks really good! So good I picked up a newspaper for tomorrow's mani. I've already looked over the funny pages and the weekday offerings suck more than the Sunday ones, so I don't know if I'll just pick off heads or try to find some good news for a normal newsprint mani... I refuse to use bad news for nail art.

Hey hey: we got some rain today. I got half the yard mowed, took my pictures, came inside and *KA-BOOM!!* The skies opened. So hopefully I can get a decent picture of tomorrow's base color with my lamp. Got a busy week coming up and I can't wait until mid-day tomorrow for nail arts. So... yeah. Time to get started on that and eating and emails and stuff... Right? I feel like there was something I wanted to mention, but I can't remember now. :p Happy Thursday, y'all!

  1. I have never been able to figure out what Beach is supposed to smell like. I don't get the name vs colour at all either. I love the comic nail :)

    1. I'm 98% sure it's tanning oil. lol Thanks. I think I'm going to have to pick up another Sunday paper and see if I can do a full mani. The added color is so fun!

  2. Another weird greeny/yellow but it looks fun though! Hahah I agree that you should only use good news for nail art ;)
