MooD Color Change Funky/Fabulous

I'm starting off with that butterfly (which was outside when I went to start taking pictures) because before I get into my spazzy polish experience this morning I have something very unpretty to share. Seriously, I almost cried.

My nails are splitting again! *whimpers* Just those two so far, thankfully. I think I can only attribute this to my basecoat, because nothing else is different over the past month or so. I had been using the LA Colors UltraNail Hardener and it's getting to the point where it's harder to get out of the bottle; so I switched between a plain L'Oreal basecoat and my sticky one. Then this. So I'm now back to my LA Colors and I'll be picking up another bottle next time we're at Walmart because this is just awful. They were doing so well, too.

Now, if that wasn't bad enough, I came inside and poured out some 100% acetone to finish cleaning up Mitzi off of my nails (I noticed I missed some spots on the outside edge) and dumped the whole cap all over me. Then, while I was painting my nails everything was going fine (was even kind of happy that this polish turned out to be matte) until the whole quick-dry thing backfired and I ended up with a wierd crater on my middle finger so I ended up with 3.5 fairly thick coats on that one finger, and it shows. You'll notice it. Trust me. Other than that this polish was great. Nice formula, went on (mostly) smoothly, at least for the first coat, dried quickly, and the color change was awesome. While it lasted. I had to take it off because my topcoat decided to get all thick and bubbly and I just can't have that. Anyway, here are all the pictures together you so can appreciate the color change effect without me running my mouth throughout.

Pretty neat, huh? I wasn't thrilled with the Fabulous/purpleish color, but the Funky/pink was pretty. My hands are notoriously frosty, though, so I don't think I could get the awesome french tip look that Colette got. Ah well, still neat.

I dyed my hair last night so hopefully I can remember to measure the roots in 30 days to see how long it grows in a month. I like the red, but I keep thinking I might do black next time. I really liked that and didn't end up keeping it long. Was going to straighten my hair and get some pics, but as spazzy as I've been I'm kind of afraid. lol Feeling lucky to have gotten my contacts in without losing an eye. Instead I'll just sit here, keep clicking on videos for $$$s on SwagBucks and try to finish this mani idea without chunking my polish out the window. :D Hope everyone's week is off to a great start.

    1. Naw, got that at Burlington Coat Factory. I'm assuming they all work about the same, though.

  2. I like it pink too! Sorry about all of your mishaps! Lol. I wanted to warn you about Sweet Nothings: it took a total of four coats to have it look like that (then, of course, the coat of glitter in between the coats) so it is very sheer! Btw, thanks for all of your supportive comments <3
